Hello, I’m Kripal Singh.
I study how native plants resist invasion and help damaged landscapes recover. I’m a Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

My journey began with sharing knowledge about medicinal plants in rural communities. It led me to a question that still connects my work: how can we care for the land while meeting people’s needs?
My research and teaching have taken me across India, South Africa, South Korea, and now Brazil. I combine field and greenhouse experiments to understand plant communities, biological invasions, and soil recovery.

Exploring the relationships between biodiversity, productive landscapes, and ecological recovery.
Understanding how land rehabilitation, afforestation, and cropping systems influence soil health and ecosystem recovery.
Research includes long-term restoration of degraded sodic lands, soil health indicators, and the effects of different land-use systems.
